‘Becoming Colleen’ has been awarded $5000 from the Queerscreen Completion fund at this year’s Mardi Gras Film Festival.

“It is so great that organisations like Queerscreen do so much to support projects with a voice from fringe areas of our society” commented director Ian Thomson. ‘Becoming Colleen’ tells the story of an 85 year old transgender woman dealing with her transition from male to female in the conservative coastal community of Coffs Harbour. The project is currently seeking funding through the Documentary Australia Foundation.
